Just when I was complaining about the lack of Nara Yoshimoto-related updates , I go on and find out he's got a new catalog up! Dear Heavens, I'm psyched!

The sad expression (sometimes spaced-out) characters, big head-big eyes little girls and an odd oversized dog are just some symbols that Nara is famed for.
His works often shed light to issues concerning the Japanese youth (isolation and negligence amonst other things).
But I believe his works - though simple, speak in multitude of voices.
It goes beyond the norm in trying to obtain individualistic freedom. With that in mind, his works elevate beyond age and location making it pleasing and utterly mind-compelling to the audience.
